Something I never understood. Both are technically drugs. Both are typically allowed at meetings, we'll you have to go outside usually to smoke.

Caffeine generally doesn't destroy anyone's life. Nicotine, well, they're Alcoholics Anonymous, not Nicotine Addicts Anonymous. *shrug*

Addiction to coffee cures definitely in about a week, without further withdrawal. Coffee offers a lot of benefits for health with almost no bad side effect. If you put it on the same level as tobacco you're making a mistake.
Sugar is a much harder drug than coffee, alcoholism has much worse side effects than tabagism.

I'm not putting them on the same level. Technically they are mood altering substances.

i don't think a few coffees or cigarettes cause you to crash your car or start a bar fight

I think the real crime is the 2000% markup on coffee beans.

Although, to be honest, I've often wondered how caffeine has become so integrated into our society that it is an acceptable stimulant. Maybe it is because of the reasonably mild effect on our bodies, but I know plenty of people that are addicted to caffeine, be it habitually and/or physically.

It's hard to see tobacco being in the same realm as coffee, although I think they are similarly used throughout society.

This is true, as is what was said about sugar being a harder drug than coffee.

Short answer though, these are socially acceptable drugs.
Pot is less socially acceptable, but IMO less harmful than tobacco. This could be argued to no end, but I'm not getting into THAT conversation again.

Also OldDog52: YOUR AVATAR IS A TOTAL SPOILER!!!!!!!
Good thing I'm all caught up on BB.
I can't wait for the next season. Act 5 is where tragedies get REALLY good.

OK, since I hate spoilers myself, I changed my avatar to a non-spoiler version.
