Why I come back to TalkBass

Sign in to disble this ad
After about four and a half years of intermittently cruising and perusing the site, creating and updating a user profile, and investing in a supporting membership, I finally thought about why I keep coming back - and what I get for my efforts...

For me, a lot of it is the opportunity to stay on top of new trends in gear...and the vicarious thrill I get - more like a rush and a buzz really - from brainstorming my next new acquisition in pursuit of the Holy Grail of Perfect Tone. That, plus the opportunity to clue in a few noobs along the way...

So, what's your reason(s)?

I can't come back because I never leave.
Plus nothing beats getting sigged. Makes me feel SO smart.

Youre wrong, she just posted in the How Many Girls thread... she was number 1.

I come here because a young mans life isnt fulfilled without basses and a total sausage fest!

I used to come for the chicks. Then I found out Tim Cole wasn't a psuedonym. It made things a little weird, but we both got over it.

I keep coming back because it's the most civilized message boards I've regularly posted at or read, if you can believe that.

Shut up.

In other news, I REALLY appreciate the appreciation I'm getting here. It give me hope. Hope that there might a stop to the senselessness that is the Unofficial I Have Mike_v_s On Ignore Club. Thank you.

I still don't understand why people put you on ignore. Your on topic posts are well thought out and articulated well. Your off topic posts are often funny. We should start the "I haven't put mike_v_s on ignore" club.

I think it's my off topic participation. My basses/amps stuff is generally devoid of the BS and benign. The OT stuff is basic, but i think some people take themselves or me too seriously. I find the periodic "hate" comments pretty funny. My sig is one of them.
