Why is TB so different?

Sign in to disble this ad
No matter what message board I go to, it seems that inevitably something happens. A misunderstanding, some kind of disagreement, usually with a moderator. But I've been here for years, and have never had any problems at all with moderators or administrators. I don't know what it is that makes this site different. Does anyone else have similar experiences? It seems my biggest problem is that I end up accidentally ticking off a moderator and then that person openly posts something to make me feel uncomfortable. I'd way rather be banned behind the scenes than to be made a spectacle of in public. I'm seriously thinking of becoming a supporting member here because I'm actually beginning to believe that the moderators are super fair to people. I've never seen anything quite like this in a message board. An outstanding job as far as I'm concerned.

TB Rocks. We're full of good peeps. The truly goofy ones get themselves permabanned, the folks who know how to follow the rules stay. The rest of us get warnings/infractions and wrist slaps to remind us of da rules. It's a self-rectifying thing.

Duh, it's because bassists are awesome. We have to trade in our ego card just to get a bass (except for the solo bassists ) so we are able to relate to each other as equals and buddies instead of trying to out-do each other like G*****ists.

They were supposed to do a remake of Red Dawn. Matter of fact it was almost complete but I think that the budget got cut and they shelved it....

Yup

"Red Dawn is an upcoming war film being directed by Dan Bradley and written by Jeremy Passmore and Carl Ellsworth based on the 1984 film of the same name.[2] The remake stars Chris Hemsworth and Josh Peck as brothers Jed and Matt Eckert. The film is scheduled to be released on November 24, 2010, but is now in limbo due to MGM's lack of funding. Instead of depicting a Soviet invasion of the United States heartland as in the original 1984 film, this film's storyline will be based on a Chinese invasion."

No loss. Remakes usually suck anyway. Tough to top Red Dawn.

I would have loved to see the remake of Red Dawn, too bad they ran out of money. Back on topic, it's because Talkbass is awesome. There are times when we get warnings, but I've never had any problem with the moderators here.

I saw that, but it had absolutely nothing to do with my thread and didn't influence it in any way.

I think the events you describe go on around here, but it is typically handled discreetly. For those users who want to go kicking and screaming, we sometimes get a glimpse of their last stand before they get jettisoned off to HC.
