so i got this new computer, cool stuff eh? i dunno really, i wonder if it is this new 19" wide screen lcd monitor or vista's graphics but it all looks weird to me. am used to the old 17" crt monitor and xp 
anyone else feel not so comfortable reading on these weird screens?

It's supposed to look like on the old one, except with more place on the sides.

so i bought a 500GB HDD but now i only see about 365 when i add up the total space in all the partitons? 
i think its always a few dozen GBs lesser but 365/500?

Play with the resolution slider until you get the highest resolution that looks right on your screen

| | | | LCD screens have an optimal resolution. Do find out which it is, and use it. It looks blurry otherwise. You can see the optimal resolution for you monitor on manuals or online. If fonts look to small, enlarge them. But that resolution needs to stay put.
With most graphics cards, you can also set them not to stretch the screen on lesser resolutions than the one preferred: instead, only a portion of the actual screen will be used because the picture will remain clear. For example, my 15.4" widescreen optimum resolution is 1280x800. When I play older games that only go up to 1024x768 (not widescreen, right), the game is "centered" on the screen like an inset. The pic is nice, precise, and in right proportion, and I wouldn't have it any other way. |

IPS designs have larger viewing angles and retain more color accuracy throughout the range. |

It also doubles as a tv. Let me tell you, planet earth the bbc series looks AMAZING! |
