wifi tv

I was gonna sign back up for Netflix today, and saw their base level service is now "streaming tv."

There are tv's with wifi built right in:

That one^^^^looks and reviews decently.
Combined with my current in-house wifi, this would let me stream nextflix, ja?
And with the full keyboard remote, it appears I could do all my websurfing right over the tv, ja?

Am I interpreting all this right?

Panasonic has a model that does this too. I bought a couple of tv's over the holidays and I went with the lesser model because I needed a home theater system too and wifi was built into that. Watching netflix on it is great.

The lines between TV and computer is completely blurred these days. You can get blu-ray players with apps and wifi too, for a hundred bucks.

I think it's cool. I wanna TV or appliance that streams Boxee. Because I'm not shelling out 300 bucks for a Boxee box, no matter how awesome it is. A friend hacked his Apple TV a couple years back to stream boxee beta, but no mo'.

What speed of wireless will your router support? How far away from the router is the TV?

You can do it through TV apps, but I'd recommend a Roku box. Works great and opens up other non-netflix options through Roku (What roku calls "channels, many are free on the roku box). Get the hdmi Roku. I have both ( a tv with the netflix app and the roku box). Pic quality through Roku box is superior to the tv app, and the roku box is easier to use. Just my $0.02

I have CenturyTel DSL, and a linksys 2.4gig wireless router, about 30 feet from my tv area...
I can't easily run a cable of any sort to the tv area.

You'll be good to go with the middle grade Roku box.

I think I still like the Visio option; though I wish it had google tv.
The sony google ready tv isn't as nice a picture, and I kinda need to move to a 16x9 tv.
My old tv is nice, but, 4x3, and old
