Anyone else get a kick out of editing wikipedia pages of celebrities to say funny things?

I'm having a ball with Rachel Ray's book list.

No, I think of Wikipedia as a awesome source for usually reliable information and as such, I would never change a page unless I see some sort of glaring inaccuracy. I figure people put in a decent amount of time to give the rest of us a solid info on whatever topic we choose to look up so why would I go and mess that up?

No. Actually, that's rather lame. Conceptually it's no different than vandalizing someone's garage with spray paint.

Except that wiki is open for everyone to use, and a garage is someones private property?

Garage = scour it and spend a lot of your time cleaning

Wiki = less than a minute to edit something on the Internet.

...Big difference IMO

I remember I got my high school banned from editing Wikipedia articles. I had spent some time messing around with a Sci-Fi writer/religious figure's page.

No, not really. I'm gonna go as far as saying it's lame and in bad taste, no matter the page.

I have to say I am with Kwesi on this one.. it certainly is funny, and by no means am I a fan of Rachel ray, but I am a firm believer in Open Source/Public Domain projects like Wikipedia, and I find it to be rather useful/informative resource.

It may be funny to mess around on Rachel Ray's page because she is an unimportant celebrity, but some people take that same outlook on every Wiki page, and then it no longer becomes informative.

If you have nothing to contribute, then don't mess with it IMO. Use Facebook for the humorous quips.

For me Wikipedia is an awesome starting point for research, though I would never use the Wiki itself as a source. Because it's helped me a fair bit through my degree, I try to clean it up from time to time, and also have a list of vandals I check in from time to time on.

To me it's about as funny as drawing glasses on people in advertisements. ie. not funny at all.
