Wilfred (FX version)

The US one I assume?

I've been watching the Australian one for quite a while now. Saw the first episode of the US one when it came out and I was pleasantly surprised with what they did with the concept, haven't got around to watching any more though.

I never heard of it till now, it looks like my type of show though so its off to Hulu I go.

My dad was named Wilfred, as was his dad.

But everyone called them big Wolf and little Wolf.

But anyway.. I do enjoy Wilfred a lot. Definitely a pleasant surprise because I was quite skeptical at first.

My only concern is how long they can keep the story line going, but for now they've done a good job.

I watched it but, got turned off when they had on Henry Rollins and he started throwing the N word around like candy canes at Christmas.

I understand it's a show but, I just got turned off.

Did the son takeover the gang yet?

I'll decline to answer in case you or anyone else decides to watch the show. I do suggest you check out the 3rd Season though, it's an entirely separate storyline (with some continuing elements) and is not nearly as offensive as the 2nd Season may have been.

Still a good show. I generally enjoy the shows FX puts out. Even the ones they unfortunately cancel (anyone catch Terriers?).

So far I like what I've seen of Wilfred. Agree, I don't know how they're going to keep it fresh, but for now I'm enjoying it.

I dunno, now that I've seen it, I'm not so into it. Its dumb but the fact no one has to bend down to pet Wilfred bugs me.

No one bends down to pet him because the guy sees Wilfred as a person and by doing so the dog stands upright ergo noone bends down to pet the dog. Because the guy sees the dog as a person.

Understand it a bit better now?

I've only seen the commercials so far, but I recorded an episode and I hope to watch soon. Do the commercials make it look funnier than it really is?

No I'd say it's as funny as it looks. I've been watching it from the beginning. You have to definitely suspend disbelief though. For instance they show wilfred smoking pot, cigarettes and drinking beer in public. While some actions I realize they are meant to mimic those of a dog, only in a humanistic manner (digging a hole with a shovel etc..), those actions I don't quite understand how others are supposed to perceive them.

Think of the smoking and drinking as symbolism. It should make more sense.
