| | | | Favre is not the only improvement that this team has made in the past year. They have a revamped offensive line, and their defense looks a little better.
Of course Favre is a huge improvement. Spreading the field with the long ball, something which they just could not do with Pennington, will dramatically help the running game with Thomas Jones. Jerricho Cotchery is turning into a solid counterpart to Coles. Cotchery and Coles is one of the better 1-2 punches in the league.
And they were in the playoffs only a couple a seasons ago. And their division has never been weaker. I say they are a lock |

They are kind of iffy. I like the looks of the Favre/Coles match and the O-line, but everything else looks pretty average to me.

I'm a big Pack and Seahawks fan, but I now also have a #4 Jets jersey. Give 'em hell, Brett!

As someone who has watched Favre for a long time, i think i'll wait until about the 11th or 12th game to say for sure. To me, Favre is a different player when the pressure is on. If the jets are doing really good by then, then yes, but if the jets are having troubles, then my guess is that Favre will go into panic mode and do his patented 20 TDs/20 INTs move. |

Can you say the same about Lebron? | You forget that there's a definite morale boost with Favre on the team. That goes to all aspects of the team. From the offense, defense, special teams- AND coaching as well as the fan base. Don't forget that opposing teams are going to have to prepare special for Favre- some offenses are going to want to out-Favre Favre, and defenses generally don't want to get shredded by an 39 year old man.
I remember in 94 or whenever it was when Boomer went to the Jets- I was expecting something big. IMO Favre>Boomer.
