Will this name stick? Should it?

So after a disturbingly long time of being unable to routinely play with other musicians, I finally am in a band again.

The drummer is a co-worker who frequently works the same craptacular schedule as me: we both do 7PM-7AM. His nights vary somewhat. But mine are Wednesday-Thursday-Friday and every other weekend. He remembered that I was a bass player a few months back and invited me to jam. We've been playing since then.

Now the weird part: I was always the oldest guy in most of the bands I played in back in the day. In this one, I'm the second youngest. The drummer is the youngest at 43 or 44-ish. So the name when I showed up was The Old Man Band.

I kind of like that. It's a pretty accurate summary. But it got abbreviated to TOMB, which sounds like a Death Metal band. I didn't like that.

So we would joke about names at rehearsals...a LOT. I think this last time we might have an interesting one.

We were teasing John, the lead player about his amp feeding back too readily and often. He replied "Life is full of disappointments." Randy the drummer immediately said a name for us:

Feedback Johnny and the Disappointments

What do you think? Surely there must be a long tradition of naming bands after the only member who doesn't sing.

Since then it has evolved to a Ramones-like concept of Disappointment being our last name, and each of us having a first name that is a modifier for types of disappoinment. Jim is Major. Randy is Damn. And I'm Bitter.

I know. It's so tempting to post 'The List" at myself.

But we already have a possible name. I'm just trying to decide if I'm letting myself get caught up in the cutesy wordplay or if it's actually a decent name to use. Currently I'm leaning toward 'cutesy wordplay'. But hey. It ought to be good for a laugh.

I actually thought a previous suggestion of 'Old Dogs' wasn't bad. But apparently there was an awful movie a couple of years back so that one got disqualified.

Find a bar that has many that many letters to place on a billboard and I will let you know if I like the name or not.

Before we settled on a band name, my wife suggested "Fat Old Guys Playing Music Nobody Wants to Hear".
While undeniably catchy and accurate, it would not fit on most marquees. The FOG Band might work, and you're welcome to use it if you wish.
