Will you miss the NBA?

This was an interesting discussion on a local radio station last night. With an NBA lockout coming...will you miss it?

My opinion: not one bit.

Fall is for football, both NFL and College - and don't doubt for a minute that the NFL won't be back.

Once we get into late fall/early winter, there's college basketball, which is NOT full of egomaniac NBA multi-gazillionaires who don't play defense and didn't stay in college long enough to learn the basics of the game, and therefore college is a lot more fun to watch.

About the time that college basketball winds down, baseball starts...and that carries us back into football season.

I usually hear something about the NBA when their playoffs happen (they do have playoffs, don't they?? I don't care enough to know), but meh. I'm watching college basketball.

Hockey is "other", and it fills time for those who follow it. I don't.

So IMO the NBA can disappear for as long as it wants to.

Last time I cared about NBA, Charles Barkley, Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, and Patrick Ewing were still active.

I doubt the public is going to miss the NBA (or NFL) should a lock out occur. Why? Well, many of us struggle to put food on the table. Many of us are unemployed. Many of us are just getting by, and yet... these guys are millionaries acting like a bunch of spoiled ass rotten babies. No one can be sympathetic to them these days.

I've never enjoyed watching sports on tv except on rare occasions. My view has always been this, "Why watch it when I can actually go outside and play it?"

No, it isn't. If you're making millions upon millions and don't think your pay is fair, then you can piss off IMO. This goes for any professional sports. I'd rather watch college sports anyway. Who cares?

My home team is the Jazz. Do you really think I'm going to miss the NBA?

Besides being crybabies and wankers, the current crop of NBA could assemble their best team, go back in time, and would get their ASSES handed to them by the early 90s Chicago Bulls.
