Windows being retarded, help!

My girlfriends laptop is acting stupid. Her wallpaper changed to her previous one, and the fonts for the icons change. Theres also this weird language on the start menu too. It just changed randomly after she restarded her pc

heres a picture for a description, please help

I don't really have much experience with Vista but if it is anything like XP then this should be easily fixable.

I have no real idea why it happened to begin with, but she should try going to Display Properties through Control Panel and then from there editing the Theme. She can return it to one of the original themes and then just from there setup her background and colours and whatnot again.

This is a known issue with Vista.

Happens on laptops after they go into sleep mode. The fix is discussed in that link as well. Good luck

Interesting - I have not noticed this happen on my laptop but at least now I know what to do if it ever comes up!

Well bassist 4 life... you can always try a 'restore point' for a start. Go back to a point/day 24 or 48 hours prior to the issue to see if that nonsense on the desktop will no longer be visable. I've fixed issues on XP Pro and Home several times that way.
