Windows Vista (Blue Screen) Help..

Sign in to disble this ad
Several months ago, the main board on my HP DV9207US was replaced because the video card was dead.. Ever since then, I've been having an issue.

1. I'll close the laptop when I'm not using it and it'll go into standby
2. After the predetermined time, it'll try to go into hibernate
3. Something happens and the hibernate doesnt work so you can hear Windows rebooting
4. I'll open laptop back up and itll give me an "Unexpected Shutdown" error. The even log will say "The previous system shutdown at 9:59:56 PM on 1/27/2008 was unexpected." with an Event ID of 6008

I've asked HP and they don't have a clue.. They keep telling me to send it in but this will be the 3rd time I would have to send this laptop in since March 07 for issues that were defects.. I explained to them I use it for business and I cannot afford to be without it, but they say there is no other option.

Anyone have ANY clue whats going on?

BTW: Is there anyway I can resolve this without talking to someone I don't understand what they are saying?

This has been a known issue since the betas of Vista with HP notebooks. I'm surprised they say they don't know about it.

Here's a start:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&s...od&btnG=Search

Look for clues and answers.

Man, I've searched high and low all over google but no one really has a definitive answer on fixing it or there are 100 different versions of this error.

Well, the BSOD you are getting has two clues to it: a hex number like: 0x0000007b and an error like inaccessible_boot_device

post those or search using those two items and the clues.

possible vista SP1 will be coming out soon, but no idea if it will fix this issue for you. like I said, this has been a known issue since running beta editions on hp notebooks.
