I run a Sony VAIO with Windows Vista.
Lately, whenever I boot my computer, it loads the icons from a bunch of crap I deleted (recycle bin, and then emptied) and then they disappear.
My computer has also been running slow as hell lately.
Any ideas?

Yes..... Refresh.....

/computer noob | It helps by constricting the circuits. Programming is one thing, but if electrons are not streamlined, everthing just wobbles, and you get old images.

To try and speed it up do all of the following:
Run some good spyware type programs such as SuperAntiSpyware or malwarebytes. Run a good antivirus scan. I think Avira is the best free scanner.
Finally, run a defrag. I like Auslogics disc defrag better than the stock Windows defragger.

I think the chick living with me now has been watching porn on it...

Any ideas? | Go here and choose any one of the on-line scanners. Windows also has a live scanner that does a great job of improving performance and getting rid of malware, which it sounds like you have, but the thing takes as long as 24 hours to complete! When you run one of these, turn off any screen savers and set your power settings (in control panel) to High Performance. This will prevent the thing from going into hybirnate. http://www.myantispyware.com/online-scanners/
