I have enough coke rewards points to get it for a year free, but I'm wondering if it's worth it or not. There's really nothing worthwhile to use the coke rewards points on other than contests which seem unwinnable.
Anyone get it? What does it have in it primarily? What's it like compared to something like Maximum PC? |

The only complaint about it is that presents itself like it's so cutting edge, but by the time I get my magazine, I've already become aware of the stuff their talking about. Overall it's a great mag to have laying around while taking a pooper. |

I subscribed for about two years and read some cool stuff in it, but most of it was about things like wireless infrastructure in Estonia or Bios of famous spammer. If you're primarily interested in computer info, Wired might not be what you're looking for because you're just as liable to get an article about new solar-panel technology.
A hint though: a lot of Wired's content is available on their website, so it's easy to check out beforehand. |

Not really about computers, but more of how technology fits into culture and stuff. I like subscribing to the magazine because I went on the website once and couldn't figure out how to navigate through it, and plus I like having an actual magazine in my hand.

Guest authors like william gibson and bruce sterling....cant beat it.
Smart and stylish (the original art director would be a billionaire if he got paid by each magazine that ripped his ideas off. |

Btw, I used to work there... but I read it before that.

I really like their blogs, too. Game|Life is a daily staple for me. Autopia is good, but tends to focus too much on alternative energy vehicles. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
