I just downloaded firefox for the first time a few weeks ago and i've been able to do it since then

That I "discovered" it was a complete accident. For whatever reason I ended up dragging the upper right-hand TB picture off the browser window onto my desktop. I've been using FireFox for years and didn't know it could to that.

I bought a mac three years ago and every browser did that

I can now drag images directly into Photoshop, though. THAT is new.

I've been dragging pics on to my desktop/photoshop ever since i had firefox :/
which was like a couple of years ago

Been pulling images off of browsers and into Photoshop for a long time now. This is especially time saving when you need to get a critical shop or fail pic done.

You can do it with IE as well. It'll take the whole page sometimes though.
