I really liked it. I've been a fan of Wolverine since the days of collecting comics. I really thought this movie was done well. Anyone else see it? |

Weapon 11 and Deadpool are two seperate characters....
the really screwed the time line compared to the comics...
I thought the storyline was a bit underdeveloped....
but overall i thought it was a good film for what it was.....
on a side note Hugh Jackman will play wolverine again in a sequel set in Japan....the story line is supposed to Follow Millers...but we shall see
also Deadpool has been green lit for his own movie
anybody stay to see the scenes after the credits?

| | | | i just saw it tonight. i've never read the x-men comics, so i can't say anything about how true it was to the original. i did enjoy the other x-men movies, but this didn't do it for me. instead of being shot in 'superhero movie' style, it was more 'summer action movie' style. if that makes sense. i thought weapon11 was cool, wish they devoted more time to that. but whatever, i wasn't expecting much.

So the original X-men were :
Cyclops, Angel,Beast, Iceman, and Marvel Girl.
By the time Wolverine appeared - I had "grown out of " comics like this and was studying Philsophy and Literature at college.
Of course I have since come back to the classics, due to all the Movie spin-offs and as NOSTALGIA for another time ....?

The story behind the memory loss was particularly problematic, I thought.

When they introduced weapon 11, I was kind of thrown by how early they jumped into him, but I got over it. My only complaint regarding weapon11 was they didn't develop him enough IMO. Overall though. I enjoyed the movie. |

Angel, an original X, being reduced to a "Daddy, I don't like this" and flies away scene...lame...oh, but he saves Daddy...lame again.

It seemed even more extreme this time around, though. The specific characters were completely irrelevant to the plot progression - could have been a completely different group and it wouldn't have mattered.

I agree...and getting back to X3, WHY were the "pawns" as Magneto referred to the first wave of "mutants"...why did they all look like they stepped off the extras set of Mad Max? So dumb. Bret RATNERRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But what was worse about the feel of Wolverine was each section of the movie didn't flow with the last, almost like they were filmed for different movies, or by different directors or something...can't quite put my finger on it, but it didn't flow well at all....and let's just say Deadpool's powers...not exactly Deadpool's, eh, eh? Pissed ME OFF! Sew his mouth shut indeed! I can't stand Ryan Reynolds. All he ever plays is Ryan Reynolds.

I have to ask, who is Deadpool? Did I miss something?
And what was the deal with the extra tidbit at the end? With Striker? It seems pointless.
P.S. The part when they escape the island, did anyone else think it looked really fake? It looked like a cut scene from an unfinished video game. The lighting was too bright, and the children ran odd.

Deadpool and Weapon 11 are two seperate charcters in the comics....in the movie they were fused into one character....
I personally never like Deadpool as a character i thought we was a Deathstroke, or Taskmaster Rip off....then again i didn't ever care for Rob Liefeld either

That being said, from being a simple Deathstroke ripoff, Deadpool has evolved marvelously into one of the most unique and interesting characters in comics, IMO.

It was actually really cool to see it without all the CGI done. I am not really a purist so I thought it was a great mindless action film, very enjoyable!!!

My only complaints were that everyone's mutant powers were a little over-the-top for me. (i.e. Gambit doing all kinds of crazy flips and stuff, flying through the air or that fact that Wolverine is practically indestructible)
The other complaint is the same as the other X-Men flicks. I need more movie. I don't say that often, in fact most of the time I want shorter movies, but the X-Men shows leave me wanting more character development, more action, more plot, more detail, etc.
