This seems like a very bad way for her to try and make her point.

Before anyone reads the title then posts; she doesn't tape the traditional abortion. Such as going to a clinic, but by taking an oral contraceptive.

how anti-climactic, unlike the conception.

I didn't get the part in the OP about shocking, scaring or enraging people. Did we read the same post? There is nothing for Jauqo to be ashamed of, as far as I can see. The video is what it is. If you like it, fine. If it disgusts you, fine. While I generally stay out of the abortion debate, there will certainly be a large number of folks who are disgusted by the video, including myself.

I don't see how Jauqo presented it that way. He simply said "woman has abortion live on the internet."
Was it a woman? Yes.
Did she abort a pregnancy? Yes.
Did she post video of the process on the internet? Yes.
Was it live? Well...no; not really.

Simply stating what this woman did is not presenting it for "shock value."

Yeah, please don't turn this into a personal battle on TB fellas. The video is what it is, and I think the OP was made to prompt discussion rather than cause a war.

Sometimes, controversial issues make people, like this lady, do controversial things. Let's keep a sensible perspective here.

I would suggest that, in many people's minds, there is a difference between having an abortion and terminating a pregnancy with a pill. Certainly, when I hear that a woman has an abortion on Youtube I quickly get an image of a fetus being sucked or pulled from a woman's uterus.

If you don`t see it then I`m dumbfounded.

He presents the story in a manner like all media - give people something to get upset or mad at without presenting the whole story or case upfront.

"What? A woman gets an abortion?! Over the interwebz?!?! OUTRAGE!!!"

He`s basically setting people up to have that kind of reaction.

No I did not. If you read the article correctly you will see just what happened.

Then why didn`t you present the story as:

Woman takes.... a pill to show the ease and accessibility of new measures for women to have abortions.

Doesn`t make that great of a story does it?

Abortion is a very sticky issue that must be handled with the utmost respect and care upfront. Anything less is asking for backlash.

And yes, I read the article and watched the video before responding. That`s actually the main reason I responded in the first place.
