A woman and her rudeness.

Sign in to disble this ad
I was at the gas station just a little while ago and held the door open for this woman walking in. Rather than telling me "thank you," she says, "I'm a big girl and I can get the door myself."

I was rather taken back by this as I've never had anyone say anything but "thank you" to me after doing that. I didn't quite know what to say, I just kept my mouth shut, shook my head, and brushed it off.

On my way out, the same woman is behind me, so rather than hold the door open for her, I let it close in her face. She then says to me, "well that was ******* rude!."

Had this woman not had been a complete ass the first time, I would've held the door for her again. I really do not get the mentality of some people. This woman is clearly one of them.

Funny thing is, I do feel kind of rude for letting the door close in her face.
Eff that negative nancy!

So she doesnt want yo uto hold the door open for her, but she does? The mentality here is that this woman just wanted something to complain about.

I'm a hold-the-door kind of guy, too, but I would have probably done the same thing in that situation.

Wimmens - it don't matter what ya do. They'll complain that you're doing it wrong.

You ran into a 'Man Hater' kind of woman.

A. She wasn't a lady.
B. My wife will thank you-when it's her turn.
C. Your 'reject' may be a throwback from the Gloria Steinem era...

Quite an unhappy person by the sounds, manners don't cost anything but obviously to some it feels that they do. Don't let it spoil your day, for every 100 there's going to be a couple, let them get on with it.

Pretty much. She just isnt very creative, it seems, and had to focus her negativity on someone doing something nice for her. She had no right to complain going in, when the OP held the door open, so she went and ensured she'd have something to complain about on the way out.

I think Gloria Steinem probably would have said thankyou. She probably would hold the door open for the person behind them regardless of who they were.

I hold the door open for men and women alike. It's just the polite thing to do.

Probably in a foul mood and just looking for something/someone to vent on. Scrape it off your shoes and keep moving...

Dunno about you folks but I hold the door open for guys, too. None of them have ever said "I'm a big boy and I can open the door for myself". It's just manners, either way.

"Thanks for telling me that...it's my mistake for thinking that you were so full of yourself that you wouldn't see such an unimportant thing like a door. Please accept my humble apology for underestimating you."

How do you know she was a woman? Maybe he/she was giving you a message that you didn't get apparently!

Female parts do not necessarily make a lady, just as male parts do not necessarily make a gentleman.
