From inside the car, the driver can't see far enough past the car and pitcrews working behind them to make the call themselves. The crewcheif should have held the driver until he had totally clear lane (and a half) to pull out. Briscoe did get a bit sideways and DID cause the wreck but I would put at least half the blame on his crewcheif.
As far as Danica.........She's no worse than any other driver in the heat of the CRASH moment. At least she didn't throw a helmet

The real sad story in the race was Sarah Fischer being taken out as a result of Marco Andretti's dumb move. Sarah's running her own team on a shoestring budget and needed to FINSH the race for $$$  |
