Our doc told my wife that since she has an Asian background, the baby would stay smaller...uh huh..
She's about 4'10".
The baby got so big that she actually had a condition where her pelvis started to separate early. (Pelvic displasia/displacement, something like that), leaving her in a wheel chair for the last few months of pregnancy. Our son ended up being a bruiser - also a 9 pounder. Her hips are definitely wider now. (which I like  )
