we have one of these. I forbid my wife putting it anywhere near the TV because I don't want to start into his murderous eyes.

funny story - last year my youngest couldn't find him and came running into our room screaming in hysterics that her sister must have touched him and he went away. was very cute except it was quite early in the morning

Im not diggin this meme. That elf is way too ordinary looking for the way in which he is used. Murder? Laughable...

These are better:

I think the whole idea of the elf on a shelf is creepy.

I remember those elves!
I think the one we had when I was a kid was dressed in green.

Man........ I hadn't thought of that thing in decades!

There's not that many of them, which is sad. I'm disappointed by my finds.

I've never heard of these things before. Seems like a great way to scare the living hell out of your kids, if you do it right.

I'm tempted to torment my kids now...I can imagine taking pictures of the elf hovering over my sons bed then showing him the picture. "Don't let him catch you not sleeping!"

I didn't know this was a tradition. I only know of it from the FX TV show "The League." Love 'em though!

That creepy thing had me too scared to sleep for half my childhood. Stephen King took care of the other half.

Yep, we also had the green suited one when I was a kid. My mom sat it in the Christmas tree.

My sister did. She took great pleasure in scaring me to death with it.

Nah, but my dad used to scare the crap out of us by chopping through the front door and then axe murdering our neighbor. My dad was such a joker.
