Wool Coats are for Girls

My parents got me a wool coat as an early xmas gift. Today, at school, some people said I was wearing a girl coat. You know those wool coats the army wears ? Well.. I did not know.

Google "Wool Overcoat" and you will have your answer.

Because, you know, the intarweb knows everything.

Serious answer: Wool coats are fine for men.

Is it a pea-coat?

These jackets were originally made for guys; actually, they were Navy apparel.

So no, it's not a girl's jacket.

Are the buttons on the left side? Then it's a girl coat. Right side, it's a boy coat.

Pfft!! Tell 'some people' about the Navy's standard issue P coat, a heavy wool jacket, and how that is for girls. I must be a girl too then.

Anybody know if it is still standard issue?

Edit: sorry, I started this a while back and got distracted.

I own one of those navy pea coats. Funny thing is last year after a concert a chick came up to me and asked me "is that an original navy pea coat? where did you get it?!?!" ...here I thought it was for his boyfriend or something ...now I have to wonder.

I get that a lot with my long black wool coat. They shut up when I pull out the sawed-off.

I've seen "pea coat" written as "P coat" before, in which case it would be a classic item for a bassist to own.

I wear a wool overcoat. I hate when people associate with those lame Hot-Topic style trench coats, though.

I wear a pea coat. No one has told me it was a girls coat, but that might be because I am 6'5" and about 300 pounds. Come to think of it, no one has ever said anything like that to me. Hehehe!
