is anyone here a workaholic? i'm a fulltime college student and work 30+ hrs a week. i also do oddjobs on the side and try and sell junk on the internet. it's a bummer but when you have bills i guess there's no other choice. it totally sucks but as everyone says.....o well.

My friends dad isnt happy unless he's working. He mows lawns all day when he gets off work and he looks like Rambo when he gets ready to mow. Even has a headband.

Someone who drinks to much alcohol = alcoholic. At what point in your life have you engaged in to much workahol and what the hell is workahol anyway?

i remember i worked 120 hours in two weeks on a couple occasions. that was hectic. i'm currently trying to find a new job since my college - summer school and work schedule are going to be to hectic. finding a new job is going to suck but it has to be done.

I've worked 100 hour weeks many times.
Not good for family relationships.
If you dont' spend time with someone, you don't really have much of a relationship?

I think that's the whole point of being a workaholic. It gives you an excuse never to around.

Not me, but my dad works 60+ hours a week every week. My mom and I often wonder what he's going to do when he retires...if he retires.

+1

Between my salaried job, and my side projects for extra cash, I've worked 7 days a week, every week, since November. About 100 hours a week.

Lots of work, no question, but it's worth it every time I look at my bank account.

i honestly wouldn't mind working 100+ weeks or whatever but with schooling it makes things difficult. arghhh. makes me want to drop out hahaha! hopefully having a degree will facilitate things a bit in the future.

Interviewing for one job, going back to another... probably looking at 60+ hours a week this summer.

There is a difference between being a workaholic and someone who works a lot because they have to.

Example:

Last summer I worked 55+ hours/week between two jobs in order to buy a real bass rig and some other things. Most of the time I am very lazy. But I'll be pulling as many hours /week as possible with one job this summer in order to afford a new (used) car.

On the other hand, my grandmother is nearly 80 years old, yet she never sits still. She does clothing alterations, cooks, cleans, organizes, shops, gardens, takes care of her dog, whatever.

I work the standard 40 hour week. But I'm also a full time graduate student. So that tacks on about 20-25 hours a week. I'm looking for a weekend job just so I can build my collection of dead presidents even more. But I haven't found anything yet. Don't get me wrong; I like to chill. But I like money too.
