I don't know if I really fot this group, but I had to go in this morning. We were over staffed, so I got to take a "personal day" and come home. I will be working tonight, though. Merry Christmas.

Got to work at 7:30 am and off at 1pm. Bummer. Only two people on staff working today at the hotel, and 6 rooms occupied. Bleh. No overtime, just straight pay. I wouldn't mind nearly so much if it was overtime... Oh well. At least it's been real quiet so far. Go home and open up the bottle of German icewine I bought for the occasion, and eat leftovers I brought home from the Christmas Eve party last night...

Looking forward to getting mom and dad from the airport this evening.....we'll be having mexican for christmas dinner. My homemade refried beans, green chile, tacos, tamales(these arent homemade but i picked em up from tamale kitcken yesterday). Can't wait for that smothered burrito, man!!!

Durn. Wish we had a decent Mexican resturant here. Not even a Taco Bell... Grief, having you go thru a list of what you're eating tonight makes me hungry for REAL Mexican tacos, quesadillas, etc. *Sigh*

hehe. i recently moved to denver and i have fallen in love with the mexican food here. I'm from Louisiana, and we have our share of great local food....but the mexican down there is nothing like this. i also discovered chorizo sausage for the first time when i moved here. it is THE BEST THING I HAVE EVER EATEN. Better than bacon, even....and that's saying something.

OK, minor derail for food.

1/2 way through the work day here! YAH!

Have you been to Jack-n-Grill? There is one on Federal not far from Invesco, and one in Littleton. I've been to both. The one on Federal is the original, usually always packed. The one in Littleton is only a few months old, and all brand new inside. Last time I was there, we were the only ones there eating.

When you recover from Christmas, put Benny's at 301 E. 7th on your 'must do" list. Always great Mexican food! http://www.bennysrestaurant.com/

And Merry Christmas!

.....BTW - as a radio broadcaster I have spent my share of Christmas eves and Christmas days sitting in a booth and spinning Christmas records. Not the worst job on a holiday by a long shot, but pertty isolated. My best wishes go out to all who work today!
