Working From Home?

Sign in to disble this ad
As some of you folks may know, I am disabled and have also been homeless the past few years. Most all of my possessions are already long gone and I have built up a bit of debt in the process.

I now have a roof over my head and if I can manage to make it last, I need to find a way to start making a little income to address my debt, medical expenses and maybe someday replace a few of the things that I lost. I cannot work a lot of hours, nor can I work anywhere outside of home.

I have good computer and technical skills. I have a wide range of knowledge about a number of subjects but I am not nearly as sharp as I was in the past. I don't know if anyone has any ideas or if it is even possible to find at home work these days. I telecommuted in the past but those jobs were the sort that took over a person's life and still required several days a week on site.

I cannot handle those sort of demands these days but still want to earn a little something so I can begin to move toward a better future.

Peace,
S

Research.
My wife occasionally does research for various people related to her full time work. Let me be more clear. She's a real estate appraiser. She at times does research for clients related to the real estate industry. Laws,Zoning, etc...
This type of work can be done from home, using your computer skills, and certain software.

Something along those lines might work. Not an out of the box solution, you'll have to find your customers, and work hard at putting it together. But that may be an advantage.

Thanks for the idea. I do know one local agent. I will ask him about this sort of work. I actually went to real estate school but that was a long time ago.

Anyone have any other ideas?

Set up a virtual storefront and sell stuff on eBay. It's a start.

My sis-in-law (a stay-at-home mom) has been looking into data entry for the medical field (medical records, etc.) as an at-home job. It might be worth checking into for yourself.

Good luck!

Suzie,

I'm sort of in a similar boat as you are, being disabled. I'd look into telephone work, data entry (as EricF suggested), a craft type business (crocheting, quiltwork etc).

Good luck in your endeavours

God Bless, Ray

Do it while she can. With more and more clinics converting to EMR's, there is less and less need for a transcriptionist.
