The Yanks outplayed the Angels and deserve the pennant. However, it was odd to see the fundamentally sound Angels unable to field two bunt plays.

I'm gonna have to root for the Phillies too. It'll be interesting to see how they fare against a team that has been there (many times) as opposed to last year's series vs. the D-rays.

bc | You are right about the Yankee playoff experience being the big difference between the Rays and the Yanks. The flip side of experience is age - and these Yankees are old. I keep waiting for it to bite them in the rear; but it really hasn't yet (except for maybe Jeter's limited range at SS).

I couldn't care less about the Yanks or the Angels either way but games 2, 3 and 5 of the ALCS had me cheering because the games were just that good.

I have to say though, I've been at other big games at Yankee stadium including when the clinched the pennant in 2000 against the Mariners. So far the energy just doesn't seem to be the same in the new new ballpark.
As for the series, I generally believe the American League is just a better league overall. I'm hoping for an exciting series. |

No, I am not a Yankee fan or front runner. I just like to see the legendary franchises win more titles.
