That tattooing & piercing has become the full blown industry it is today is more evidence we're failing as a species.

"Want this t-shirt?"
"No, I'm going to pay this guy here to doodle it in ink in my skin so I can't remove it. Then people will REALLY know what I'm about!"

"Here, ram this sharp object through me. Now put this hunk of metal in the hole. No no, leave it there.....okay now take my money."

Vanity. Dolphins must think we're complete idiots.

I think I would cite a few other factors first.

I've seen episodes of "Cops" where these morons wear saggy pants AND big ol' Timberland boots with no laces. If you're going to be a street criminal, isn't being able to move fast at a moment's notice a prerequisite? It's funny to watch young, lean thugs get chased down by middle-aged cops who ain't exactly svelte. I hope criminals keep dressing this way! And yes, baggy saggy pants are the worst fashion trend, IMO.

Dunno- IMO the dude's harboring a deep need to be *different/shocking/whatever* which would manifest itself in such a way as to get the desired effect, regardless of environment/era. A freak is a freak, and this guy is a FA-REAK. Personally, I don't give a crap. I'm far more concerned w/laundry and/or the zits on my keister.

This one looks the tackiest. I mean, they're definitely going to regret this when they're older.

There's a lot of fashion trends. Some are cool and same are way out there but I gotta say this is the most assenine style I've ever seen and I hope it is deemed a crime to dress like this!! To actually dress like a federal prisoner is the most stupidist thing I have ever come across fashion wise!

Back in the 80s my friends and I absolutely hated this look:

So we would walk around with our socks tied around our ankles instead of actually wearing them.
