well im at a point in an online game where i am friends with a person who steals/scams (or attempts to) from other people in the game to advance himself...The question i ask is that now i have a 100% chance to take everythig he owns in the game as sort of revenge, do i take it and teach him a lesson?

Btw, what online game is it? I play lots of online games. Once my friend was buying a glove, the guy selling it traded him, showed the stats, and before they made the deal, he goes, "oh wait a second, let me re-trade". So the guys cancels the trade, opens it again, then puts in an identical glove but with really bad stats, and my stupid friend doesn't think to check, puts in his 12 million gold and buys a glove with bad stats that is worth about 5k.
