Would you buy autographed sports memorabilia through amazon "market place"?

so I was browsing Amazon and stumbled across some inexpensive signed autographs of a certain hockey player. My brother is a huge Detroit Red Wings fan and i'd like to get him a signed photograph of famed 80's/90's defense man, Igor Larionov. Does anyone here have experience buying similar items through independent amazon sellers? I know this is akin to buying signed autographs on ebay..there is a huge market for fraud in this area and I am weary of getting burned. From what I can tell, most of these sellers offer little in the way of any kind of certificate of authenticity or even any kind of solid guarantee of anything.

At the price range I am looking at($40-$60 give or take) I dont expect any kind of heavy documentation, but if I pull the trigger on one of these I will probably lack the piece of mind of knowing I have anything genuine...any thoughts?

If it's cheap and looks real, go for it. Is your brother going to take the gift to an expert? Even if you do get burned, everyone's still happy. Blissful ignorance!

Seriously though, with no documentation, you are very likely getting scammed. It's just so easy. There will always be that sense of doubt, but if you're cool with that and the price is right, why not?

Just to have something framed, signed or not, would cost you that much if not quite a bit more. I'd say go for it if you think he'll like it!
