Question Would you spend boutique bass money for a pet?

Wound you spend boutique bass amounts of money (3-5 thousand, $ USD) for a pet? I personally wouldn't go that high for a puppy dog but I would be willing to spend a few hundred more to get a rare coloring. For example, $200 more for a chocolate colored Beagle puppy as opposed to the common tricolor.

You know, Ive never actually bought a pet. My three cats and my chinchilla were all given to me free of charge. Of course, I incur their expense, but paid nothing up front.

Would I? Probably not, seeing as how I keep getting them for free...

Nope. There are plenty of pups in local shelters that need a good home.

I would imagine ponying up (HAHAHA) for a horse, could get close to boutique bass prices.

No.

Unless I was filthy rich. Then I would have a couple of Crocodiles in the moat or something.

I sure would to get something like a lemur or African bush baby. I have friends who own exotic cats that cost more than you guys spend for your fancy schmancy basses.

If you were a for profit breeder and needed good stock, maybe, otherwise, save your cash and go the rescue route.

If you are not intimately familiar with the animal/breed in question, the chances of you paying waaaaay more than you should are even better than someone who just knows they want an old Fender bass and has 6~8K burning a hole in their pocket.

After many decades of shelter dogs, I thought this time, I'd get that pure-bred Bull Terrier I always wanted. Then we adopted Stella, another shelter dog and I couldn't be happier.

I wouldn't spend money for any animal that isn't going to end up on my plate.

A lemur would be awesome! Or perhaps a Sugar Glider...

We never pay for pets. They just show up whenever there is an opening. It's kinda like "um, do you need a dog?"

I've probably spent about a US Fender's worth on my guy since he got sick, but that's a different story altogether, he was given to us for free.

If I ever was looking for another pet(I won't be), I'd go to a shelter for sure, lots of poor doggies out there that need a home.
