I gave them a urine sample and the doc came back in and told me we can't go any further. I have an appointment with my doctor in the morning. Until I get this under control I can't work! |

Take care of yourself and do the best you can to keep it under control.

If you have only recently become T2 diabetic (not just recently discovered), then massive diets have been shown to totally reverse the insulin resistance.
(when I say massive, it was 2-3 months of only ~500 calories per day, I'll find the paper at work tomorrow if you are interested in approaching your Dr about it).

She lives a completely normal life, just has to shoot insulin twice a day.
Type 2 can be influenced a lot by diet, exercise and weight control, might be worth re assessing your diet and lifestyle... |

Often times it can be managed with diet (nothing radical or extreme) and exercise. Sometimes it is managed through oral medications, sometimes through injections of insulin or an insulin substitute.
Do not panic. Just listen to your doctor and if your doctor tells you to see a nutritionalist, take that advise seriously and do it.
Type 2 is a life-style change, not a death sentence.

But big physiological changes are still one heckuva upside the head.

But seriously, If it's T2 it will make changes to your diet, but it's not that big a deal. Type 1 runs on both side of my family so I've been tested fairly frequently.
The old '70's glucose tolerance test. Fasting for 12-24 hours followed by 6-8 hrs of blood and urine samples about every 30 mins. Good times.. |

My advise is see a dietitian/nutritionists before you do anything. Everybody is different when it comes to being diabetic. |

Many of these cases are controllable. Most. Also have them check your thyroid function. Even a sub clinical thyroid result should be addressed. Make them do it.
Look at the lab work. Educate yourself. |

Here's a link to the paper I mentioned previously. It may be worth taking a copy along to your Dr when you go to see them and discuss if it's applicable.
