I wouldn't care, especially if I was going to die soon. But if he's not a citizen, how did he get SS in the first place?

I believe it's only in recent years you needed to prove citizenship to get SS. He likely got SS about 30 years ago.

He served in the American military, married an American and has lived here all of his life. Why would he be denied citizenship? Just say he passed the damn test.

If I read the article right, he wasn't denied anything, he just didn't think to apply for it because he thought his parents dealt with it when he was born.

He was denied an enhanced drivers license so he could go to Canada, where he IS a citizen.

From the KOMO news website article: ""We went up to get an enhanced driver's license and they turned me down," he said.

He was rejected because it turns out the World War II veteran is Canadian."

If the United States doesn't want him as a citizen, we'll gladly take him in Canada.

The fact that he has served the United States faithfully, both during and after World War II, should warrant a citizenship.

However, if he were to move to Canada where he is a citizen...Free health care!

he is definitely a citizen of canookistan and therefore eligible for a passport, and pension,medicare......etc.etc. from the canook government.....but you would think the president himself would jump all over the chance for a photo op to honor a vet with his rightful imho,us citizenship....

Yeah, now that this has been made public, I'm sure some kind-hearted politician (who's up for re-election) will come to his aid.

Not for long, I would think.
What's that George Miller line about old folks bragging about their age?

Old man : "Im 91 years old!"
George : "Good! That means you'll be dead soon!"
