bored today, I 'm watching an episode of The X Factor on tv while I get some work done.
man, there are some weirdos in that show!
but there are also so many talented singers, and the editing of the show, I'm a man, but I'm not afraid to say I almost cry a couple of times!
I got to see that burrito guy that went with his mom to the audition, looked like a total looser, and man can he sing!
there's also this 14 year old girl... wow what a voice! a justin bieber fan she says, took one of justin's songs and made a beautiful song out of it...

Whenever I see these kind of shows, I just have to wonder, are all those freaks and geeks really like that normally, or are they just posing to be on tv?

| | | | I'm sick of it. At least Simon Cowell's gone. Although, the live auditions make the program lose an element of enjoyment from it.
I don't bother with it anymore.
PS Gary Barlow's voice makes me want to fall asleep.

If I thought there'd be enough interest, if start a Strictly Come Dancing thread |

Pop music and rap don't utilize instruments, blues, jazz, rock, heavy metal, country/western, and just about anything as firmly established as those genres aren't considered "current" or "pop culture", and alternative/indie and poppunk type stuff has too small of a market.
So we're left with instrument-ized rap and pop, which = numetal. *shudder*

But the trickle down effect doesn't really help the wider gigging/working community of musicians in the long run. With bars and venues switching over from live bands just to pay much less for a karaoke.
Saying that I don't mind it at the right time, right place, if I'm full to the brim with ale that is, and only then Funniest Karaoke EVER! - YouTube

So having music shows on tv does help gigging musicians, it gets them booked on tv.

The trickle down effect of the shows is that everyone thinks they can pull it off, thus the bad karaoke, thus the bar owner only having to pay one fella incentive.
