Sign in to disble this ad
Anyone got organised already and did all their Xmas shopping? Wanna share your ideas for gifts that would work in the average family, so we can steal them?
Few random ideas of mine...
Def Jam Rapstar
Beers from small breweries (e.g. BrewDog)
Money (for the kids, never forget money is usually the best!)
For musicians : instrument stand (you can never have enough!)
This book: 59 Seconds: Think a little, change a lot « Richard Wiseman
Someone else must have some better ideas!
Ideally the sort of thing you can 1-click order from Amazon...

For the wife:
A record player (that can convert tunes to mp3)
Black Randy & The Metro Squad's album "Pass the Dust, I think Im Bowie" on vinyl
(she used to have it on CD, but it was stolen from my car. You cant find this CD new, its not being printed anymore, and a used copy was going for $39. New on Vinyl for $22)
A Hello Kitty Necklace & a Car Decal
She'll probably get some more goodies
Parents:
I got them a pet fence so they dont have to keep their small dogs tied to a stake when they go camping
Sister (a huge Disney fan):
Mickey & Minnie light up Xmas tree topper
Brother (Dallas Cowboys fan):
A Cowboys plaque with a piece of Texas Stadium turf that was played on
I'll probably also get my younger nieces some gifts.
All this I bought via Amazon.com

They will be happy knowing they helped make my life better.
If $2,000.00 is a bit steep for you, and you just don't love your family and friends enough to spend the big bucks, I can go cheaper. For everyone who sends me $20.00, I will be $20.00 richer.
I hope you will all consider doing this.
It really would help me, and your family can be proud.

These fences dont have tops to them, and most cats could hop right out. They also may be able to squeeze through if the bars arent close enough together.

It really would help me, and your family can be proud. | You know, if every member of TB sent you just $1 you'd have $187,226

| | | | Nowadays we just pick a name from a hat and give one gift. I got my brother in law this year. Since he's an engineer I got him a slide rule made back in 1962. A quick trip to eBay and I was done with my Christmas shopping.

Presents I've got that have gone down well are:
cool schoolbag (like, a pretentious 'urban bag' kind of thing)
books to read (if in doubt, get something for someone slightly older)
If she's like any kid I know, she'll want a new mobile phone...

I'd be happy if ten percent of them did it!
Let's start a campaign for ten percent of all TB'ers to send me a dollar!

Maybe? | Sounds pretty cool actually... Just chuck in a neighbourhood stray animal/immigrant child, and stir! Genuine time-savers are pretty considerate presents.

Bought a membership for a chilli farm (dartmoor), for my dad, they send out chilli plants during the year, seeds, chilli chocolate etc etc
DVD boxset for my brother, may pick him up a PS game or something too.
Struggling with ideas for the ladyfriend at the moment, probably a necklace and perfume or something
OP, can I suggest avoiding Brewdog, I just try to boycott them at any opportunity, the company is run by a bunch of grade A . . . well, you know . . . not good
