Got a custom quote on an Alembic and it's $22,100 after i tried to make it as no-frills as possible. So it's either kids or an Alembic, unless i win the lottery or get an extremely well-paying job.(Not likely because i hope to teach a band class)
(BTW Larry, a sparkly purple fretless Jazz might ease the pain of Alembic-less-ness )

Just a thought. Grats on the bass over kids. Plus kids lose their resale value faster than cars.

In my book - no way.

Every sound clip of them that I've ever heard, whether on albums or youtube, has sounded repulsively bad. My ibanez starter bass sounds better. Personally I don't like the look of em either.
could somebody please explain the Alembic thing to me?
