That study is flawed for anyone that says McDonalds fries are better than Five Guys. My guess is they have never had Five Guys fries.

As far as Taco Bell, I love me a 7 layer burrito from time to time. Their dehydrated then rehydrated ground beef scares me though.

-Five Guys at #1 on the Large Chains list is stretch. Good burgers but I dunno about that good.

-Never been to In-N-Out Burger but I hear their good.

-Taco Bell should've made #2 on the Mega Chains list. Subway is a solid #1

-Even though I don't eat there anymore, Chick-Fil-A has the best fries in both function and taste. By function, I mean neatly layering them into a Chicken Sandwich, with a bit of salt n' pepper.

-Were pizza chains not allowed or something because Dominos and Papa John's smash half of those guys listed.

Joe, obviously being from New York you don't have easy access to good Mexican food. Otherwise your enthusiasm for Taco Bell would be a lot more 'meh'.

Correctamundo. Taco Cabana reigns supreme.

My mexican buddy says the same thing every time I say how good Taco Bell or Chipotle are. I tell him "I don't want real Mexican food unless it taste like fake real Mexican food!"

The survey is badly discredited for me by the selection of McDonalds for #1 Best Fries.

Taco Bell, although I don't do it all the time, is a guilty pleasure. The fact that it's not "real" Mexican is irrelevent.

Taco Bell is by far my favorite laxative. McDonald's is a very close second, but when I really want to clear the insides, Taco Bell, every time. In and Out is just too damn easy, name being such a literal result...like a bullet train from mouth to anus.

I generally agree with all lists except that I would put Chipotle at the top of Large Chains (or at least above Panera) and Five Guys definitely goes to the top of Best Fries. Other than that, I can buy into the lists.

IMO In-N-Out doesn't live up to the hype and their fries are awful. For me a king burger at Fatburger is the best.

Taco Bell is going to have to get my order correct at the drive thru AND rember to include napkins and/or plasticware when applicable. Never, not once, have they got everything right. And even then, they'd struggle to be in my top 10 fast food joints.

Why? It's not like Taco Bell is Mexican food.

That's what I wuz gonna post. I really, REALLY, don't consider Taco Bell Mexican food. I consider it Mexican inspired American fast food.

Living in NY I think I crave it more than most because they closed them all down around me. I think there are now only 3 of them in Brooklyn. Or at least within reasonable driving distance. When I was at NAMM in Cali there were millions of them. I went running one morning and my bandmate asked how far I was going. I jokingly said I'm running 2 Taco Bells. I did. You can actually measure distance and give driving directions by them over there. Go straight for 2 taco bells, then amake a left at the 3rd...

As for real Mexican food, there are places in NY where you can get it, but I've also been to Mexico, LA, and lots of other places where I've experienced it. In all honesty, I not as big a fan of the real deal as I am of the more Americanized Mexican places. And that doesn't make me a bad person.

Must mention also that I'm a vegetarian. I only buy Taco Bell sans beef/chicken. Mostly bean burritos, 7 layer, grilled stuffed (-meat) and cheezy gordita crunches (also -meat). All works excellently as a colon cleanse too. I used to take psyllium, but I swear Bell works better.

Never heard of 5 Guys and I have travelled all over the States through the years.

I wouldn't feed Taco Bell to a dog.

An old song from back in my pure genius nerve writing days with a taco bell reference. Please listen, as nobody now listens to this stuff. Well, anymore.
