Yoko Ono sues a musician named Lennon

Sign in to disble this ad
Yoko Ono is suing a 20-something female singer/songwriter whose REAL NAME is Lennon Murphy. The girl calls her band "Lennon" and registered a trademark for that name a few years back. Yoko is now accusing her of "falsely representing" herself, "diluting" the Lennon legacy and "causing confusion in the marketplace".

Here's the girl's side of the story:

Oh, and by the way...

What I want to know is, if I rub that lamp, where does the genie pop out from?

I think John Lennon's legacy is safe. All I can hear are motorboat sounds.

To be fair, I'm not 100% sure that "suing" is the right word. That's what Ms. Murphy calls it on her website, and several other website call it that too, but TMZ posted a copy of a legal document that's technically called a "Petition for Cancellation" of the trademark.

I'm not a lawyer, so I don't know if there's really a lawsuit involved here or not.

Someone needs to put Yoko Ono, Heather Mills and Maria Elena Holly in a spaceship and blast it into the sun.

I am going to sue Yoko Ono because her name sounds too much like a tire manufacturer and her voice sounds too much like a Black and Decker table saw.

The man speaks the truth.

She should be imprisoned for crimes against humanity.

You'd think these women would get along considering their similarities. After all, they both make awful music.
