Last Wednesday, I gave two lectures in freshmen level history. The second lecture in particular, was really, really good! I honestly feel that I am the best lecturer in my department. Mind you, I did not say I was the best teacher. My department is full of smart people who have a lot to offer in terms of facilitating discussion, mentoring, and guiding research. Lecturing is just one part of the package, but I feel I do it better than anyone else in my department.
Obviously, I am bragging a bit, but I think it is important to know what you do well in life. That way you can play to your strengths and not your weaknesses.
How many of you feel that you know what you really do well or the best?

But as for my strength, I'm by far the best freshman on the schools track team, and my coach expects me to be best in the school by the time I'm a senior.

There is, however, a minimum standard, and if you are above that, you're still light years ahead of anybody else.

I'm the best time trial specialist on my cycling team. Unlike musicians, some of which are prone to being legends in their own mind, I see this as a responsibility for me to maintain and improve. |
