I just got a new car (a 2009 Mazda6 i Grand Touring) that gives me Sirius satellite radio for 6 months. What's fun for me is to see how artist names appear on the digital readout on my dash. It only allows for 8 characters, so band names are kind of fun.
The Carpenters came up as The Carp, and Joe Cocker came up as...well, you get the idea.
For those of you who experience the same thing, what are some of the wacky names that come up for you?
I admit this is a dumb thread, but it's my 800th post , so I had to come up with something.....

What really bugs me though, is that on the Accord's readout, you can only see Artist or Song, not both like on an aftermarket XM or Sirius radio. I had it free for 6 mos, didn't renew, then when the merger happened, the selections got a lot better, so I'm on the basic music only $9.95/month plan. I like it OK, especially when driving out of area. |

My commute is literally 5 minutes, so I don't spend a lot of time in my car to and from work.
What I really want it for is for Brewers/Packers games when I'm travelling. There is nothing more aggravating than trying to switch from station to station as you're driving across WI trying to find a station that has the game on.

So you can tune in Wayne and Larry, like I do from home when I turn the TV sound off every game and tune in the homers on the radio. |

Seriously, the new 6 series looks fantastic, probably the next car we get. I'd love to see what color scheme you chose.

It's February in Wisconsin and I can't keep my car clean long enough to take a good pic. The one posted is a stock photo, but mine looks just like it.
I got mine in Ebony Black with the black leather interior. The i Grand Touring package comes with a 6 speed manual transmission (no automatic for me), leather, heated seats, push button start, blind spot monitoring, xenon headlights, Bluetooth, etc....and I opted for the Bose/moonroof package. All of this for about $22,800. It's a hell of a car for that price.
I was kind of limited in my color choices because I opted for the 6 speed, but the black is gorgeous. It is definitely a head turner. I had a '93 Mazda 626 that I put about 170K miles on and an '89 Ford Probe (made with a Mazda MX-6 engine and drivetrain) that I put almost 190K miles on....both were great cars. Mazda puts out a nice product.

Oh yeah, and Sirius rocks! I love the Jam On channel. I have been introduced to so much different music since we got it a few years ago. |

But then again, I am stuck in a car for up to 20 hours a week. I have a new honda with XM, but I don't bother to activate it. I have a stiletto2 I use in the car, and also have docks in my office and basement.
The programming is great, but I am still angry that instead of my favorite show being live, uncensored, and exclusive.....it is now a replay of his FM show :/
