Are you doing the job you want to be doing? If so congratulations on being one of the select few who are doing what they want but, if not, what would you be doing if you had the training/money/opportunity?

Tried the solo route, but nobody ever pays their bill. Got stuck in retail and then got unemployed, so I'm going through a staffing agency right now until I figure out what to go back to school for.

I finally started offering a a font package the cost $1500 to my clients for free if I walked out with a check in hand. That helped in some cases.

I do wish I was able to play more music and make more money doing so. But, I would imagine there is a good percentage of TBer's that want that.

My dream job? i am not really that sure yet--I'd like to have some small place that serves food/drink and has live music, mainly just so my band can get gigs whenever we want lol kinda basic dream, but hey gotta have something right? |

| | | | I work at home, and stay pretty busy. I'm usually around 90 days out on delivery from date of order, provided I have everything on hand to get you done. It can get pretty frustrating living and working in the same place. When it gets real busy I'll work until I drop, sleep a few hours and go at it again. Some days I have to check to know what day it is. Please don't get me wrong though, I'm grateful for being able to work at all, and even more so for having enough work to make it worthwhile.
I don't have much trouble getting paid, but you don't get a place in the queue until I have a 50% deposit in hand. If you want something highly personalized I get paid up front. Those few who pay a deposit then flake on the rest are no real problem. Their stuff goes on the used rack for what is owed on it and rarely lasts long.
As for doing what I want...I've never seen an opening for a full time bikini line stubble inspector so I'll have to be content with what i have.

I realized later than many of my peers that this is the career that I was suited for. I have a couple of degrees, and was prepared at one time to enter law school. As an attorney, I could certainly make more money (and live anywhere that I'd like - no residency restrictions), BUT, my life choices brought me to this point - had I made other choices, I would likely never have met my wife, nor had my children with her.
I toy with the idea of going to law school every now and again, and may actually do it, but the truth is that I really do love what I currently do.

I can't say I necessarily love what I do, but it's better than retail. I work in a body shop, up in the office paying bills and doing some basic accounting. This job is nice, because it's building my resume after taking some time off from college. I'd like to go back to school and learn how to do the advanced web design gigs and the like, but I'll get there eventually.

I did absolutely nothing, and it was everything that I thought it could be.

"Lawrence, what would you do if you had a million dollars?"

But, I think I am lucky and came into a job that I really enjoy, and can't really see myself doing anything else.. I deal table games at the largest casino in the northern hemisphere. Basically, I play games all day and people just give me money. Now in this economy, im walking on eggshells with a layoff, but other than that I really can't complain.
I can't really see myself doing anything else because anything I would really appreciate wouldj require a pay cut and im just not ready for that yet.

For the past 25 of the 31 years in construction I have been working as a Construction Project Superintendent (Job Super) for some of the state’s largest construction companies. I have enjoyed my accomplishments building facilities such as Hospitals, Schools, Prisons, Superior Court House, Water and Waste Water Treatment Facilities, Biological and Bio Medical facilities, Commercial and Industrial Facilities throughout the state. Presently managing a $30,000,000.00 Energy Recovery Facility in Hartford CT.
We’re toasting turds by-passing the emissions passing it through a waste heat boiler pumping it through a high pressure steam turbine and make electricity.
Bottom line, Im building a facility that toast turds and makes electricity. What a job.
If given the opportunity I would go back to music full time playing horn and banging on the strings. Then I would be really happy.
