Today has been a great day. Woke up 7 am, time with the family, playing with kids, great steaks, cold beer, good reading, fantastic music, eating a blueberry pie right now, will watch a girly movie later, will be at bed by 10 pm... love days like today

Me too..I had a good day. Its my wedding anniversary and the wife worked 12hr shift as a nurse.
I cleaned the house while taking care of the three kids..(My 3 yr old gave 2 cats baths in her kiddy pool..it was awesome!)
She's just home and I have an amazing supper planned.

Sure. Took the family surfing at Old Man's in San Onofre. My son got some great long waves in.

Did okay. Slept in late, caught up with Talkbass, band practice for a hours, and now some volleyball. Most of my favorite activities got covered.

Hmm.

Pretty stressed at the mo. Trying to get the final draft of a paper finished up, it's being submitted for publication tomorrow (well, it's 2:20AM here, so it's being submitted today).

BUT. Have a new band on the go. Had our first proper practice (non-jam) yesterday and it kicked ass. First band I've played in that's had some brass. Mega talented vocalist, guitarist, drummer and trombone player, I feel out of my depth, but seem to be keeping along with them alright!

My other band has been on hiatus for a couple years now, so it's good to be making music with other people, and it looks to be fairly regularly, which is awesome

Also got tickets booked for my hop across the pond to San Diego.

All in all, I'll be happy once this lump of work is done!

Certainly had a great WEEKEND. Started off Friday seeing Nikka Costa flat out KILL it onstage (and I finished making a DVD of it a bit ago, great footage and sound!)....then took in a friend's cookout and noshed on steamers... and just now got home from taking my Daughter to see Harry Potter and that was excellent too. Hoping to make a killer ending with the Missus when the kids nod off.

the difference between a stellar and an epic weekend, imo.

Yep, nice day. My older daughter was in for the weekend with her husband and their 10 week old daughter (my first Grandchild). My younger daughter is visiting, after a week long mission trip to Honduras. Always nice to have all the young'uns in. Played bass at our church service today (as usual).

All good.

Yes indeedy. I was able to mow the lawn, work on the pool, eat two breakfasts at the local diner, an epic dinner, and now am packing up to head to Denver for a few days for work. My wife will be home in a few minutes. I am happy indeed.

Not particularly, but I've always felt happiness is unlikely and overrated.

Didn't Freud say happiness was merely the transitory release of tension, or words to that effect? Sounds about right to me.

I'd rather be at peace than happy, whatever that even is.

I'm not attached to this world.

Congrats!

I had a great past few days. My grandfather (whom I don't get to see often, as he works up north in Nunavut), my aunt who lives in another province whom I get to see maybe twice a year, and then my other aunt whom I don't get to see often were all visiting at the same time this week. The third aunt is going to be dropping off the face of the earth soon. She's taking a one way trip to Thailand, and is going to be traveling around Asia for an unspecified amount of time.

Anyhow, all in all, it's been a good weekend. Banked in a lot of family time. I also tried crickets for the first time (albeit, they were salt n' vinegar flavored).

Not particularly....the short of it is that "major depressive disorder" and anxiety are a pain in the...rear.

I've been really happy lately. I was kinda in the dumps over the past few years, but I've recently turned that around by getting out and hanging out with people a lot more often. It's weird. Something bummed me out a few years ago and as a result I ended up becoming slightly reclusive, and by doing that I only made myself more depressed which made me even more reclusive. Thankfully, I finally realized that I needed to get out of the house more often and do things that I wanted to do. To say the least, it feels great being the old me again

How is my life today? Well, it's going well so far. I got up, had a shower (punctuated by some coming to pick up a piano thing I recorded for them) and now I'm eating bacon, sausage and black pudding. Yup, I'm happy.

Oh, and I've checked my webcomics too.

Not particularly, but give it a few days and i'll be on holidays. 3 locations, 4 bands on 4 nights, plus a music festival to see, and a day or two of chilling in the middle. Also, oodles of music shops to check out in Sydney. Can't wait.
