| | | | Are you more prone to read a thread if it's been locked?

This is an honest question here. I find that if a thread which looks like something I wouldn't have originally been interesting in reading has a padlock on it, I have to click to see what the controversy was all about. This is especially true for me when the thread title would lead one to believe that the content is benign.
Anyone else more intrigued when a thread's been closed?

While we're on the subject.....I will take a moment to acknowledge how consistent the moderation is in OT. Fine job fellas you're doing here.

I also read them because I want to see how the thread got locked.

That's one of the things that's different about TB than other forums I've been on. The mods here generally remove offensive posts when locking threads instead of allowing us would-be-rubberneckers to see what all the fuss is about. As a result you're often reading a relatively benign post and you're left with morbid curiosity about what caused it.

If i can guess from the title, i usually don't bother.
