You Should Date An Illiterate Girl « Thought Catalog

Food for thought. Makes a lot of sense IMO.

There's a bit of profanity in there; just a warning to the guys at work!

I dunno, it seems to be written by a guy with an inferiority complex who's been hurt one too many times...

I date a literate girl because it's hard and satisfying. So yes, this text makes a lot of sense.

The answer is very interesting:

So Yesterday : Date A Girl Who Reads by Rosemarie Urquico

Hipster trash. Reads painfully similar to a Pitchfork review.

Ok, so I'm not the only one who was thinking this. Good to know.

The gratuitous dropping of F-bombs demonstrates his inability to successfully convey feeling. I mean, I've written pieces in high school with less vulgarity and more emotion than this.

I dunno about that. I get that argument a lot(as I have a tendency to drop F-bombs around people I'm comfortable with), but I've found that the use of "vulgar" language gets exactly what I want in the end; a rise out of someone.

Thoughtcatalog.com appeals more to users who are under the age of 35; its audience also tends to consist of childless, moderately educated women browsing from school and work.

Reads like a slightly unfunnier (if that's possible) version of maddox.

I read it as a biographical self confession, of regret.

Depending on area, I would date an illiterate girl as somewhere between pre-history and today (in our world's more under-developed regions).
