young adult TBer's: ever read your teenage posts and realize you were a jackass?

Adults always say teenagers are know-it-all morons. It wasn't until going back over numerous posts I've made here growing up that I realized it's true . Seriously, how did you guys put up with me?

Easy, You were just one of the snotty kids that would eventually grow up and get it . Probably.

Some may have used the ignore feature as well...

Believe me though, it's not like You stood up from the mass, for better or worse.

I'm becoming more of a jackass with time, and though it never bothered me before, I find myself getting increasingly angry when kids go on my lawn...

I was 44 when I started posting on TB.

I can look back on my posts from yesterday and realize I was a jackass. Not a know-it-all,but a jackass.

Sometimes you have to go with your strengths.

Not so much on this forum as I joined at the age of 22 and I am now 23, but looking back on another forum I could see that I was a know it all brat. I don't talk to alot of those guys anymore, but alot of those guys are puppets and morons themselves now too. I just choose to lay low and 'do my own thing'.

Much like ShredderMaximus, I find I am becoming more cynical and sarcastic when I post in forums nowadays, or just about anything online. Call me a troll if you want, there are just so many people out there who have no idea but pretend that they do.

You must be reading my mind. That's exactly what I was thinking last night.

Yeah, except I look at any previous post, be it 5 minutes ago or 6 years back and realise I'm a jackass

But at least I'm in good company!

Actually, it is not always the youngsters making ridiculous posts. A lot of the stuff I read here that has my head spinning is from people claiming to have been playing bass for 20-30 years.

I've made a good plenty ridiculous posts when I was a teenager as well. I like to think I've matured at least a little bit, but I also realize that five years from now I'm probably going to think "man, I was such a jackass back then." So I generally try to act with that in mind.

I don't need to look at old posts to recognise my jackassness. I celebrate it daily.
