You know what I've noticed?
When men flirt with me at gigs, they're nearly always under 30.
I'm 45.
Men my age gravitate towards our singer. The young guys seem to really dig me. They always want to buy me a beer and hang out and flirt, and they are *not* put off by my age. Being married keeps things to the flirting stage only, but they make it clear that, were I available, they would not be at all put off by my age.
Why is that? I mean...its COOL!!! (A gorgeous 24 y.o. Okie made my after-gig beer very pleasant last night!) But...why aren't they chatting up the younger girls? Why this ol' chick?

Sorry, girls who like music the same amount that I do interest me ALOT more than the ones that don't. It maybe that think the same do the same idea? The guys that are listening to music at your gigs probably just love the music, and want to hang out with like minded people. |

Honestly, older women are the shiz. My girlfriend is a year younger than me, but when I was single I would have loved to have tried the older woman thing (30-46). However, to be honest I think I'd be in waaaaaaaaaaaay over my head, was always really intimidated.

Maybe its the allure of the whole chick musician deal, coupled with the draw of "something different".
'Cause these same guys wouldn't look twice if they saw me at the grocery store. I don't have my bass at the H.E.B.! LOL!

I assume that you were attractive in your 20's. Now you still are. It could be your looks, your attitude (#1 criteria) , the fact that you're a musician, etc. But it's usually all of those.
The general rule is that as long as you know you're attractive, you are. |
