Your POV on Isabella, Puerto Rico for Vacation

Sign in to disble this ad
Looking for someplace warm and accessible to east coast.

The Rincon and Isabella area's on Puerto Rico look nice.

I tend to avoid big resorts and tourist zones (I loved Vieques, Puerto Rico)

Anybody go there? reco's?

Unless your an attractive, young blonde, I'd prefer Aruba. Better windsurfing conditions

Cuba, but you are in the States, so that is out.

there isn't much to tell about Dorado. I have family there it is a quiet little town with little to do outside of the resorts. the kind of place you go if you are just wanting to sit on the beach with some kind of drink that will cost you your man card
it is about 20 miles outside of San Juan so accounting for traffic about an hour

another option is go to Dominican Republic.

perhaps calling a travel agent would be better than asking a bunch of Bassist.

Your money will probably stretch farther in the Dominican Republic. What are you planning on doing there for activities? Or just hanging out?

Weird that you posted this... I was just in Rincon on Thursday.

last time i asked a travel agent for advice I was told September wasn't hurricane season in St Martin (we spent a week trying to survive hurricane Hugo). I was young and naive. Nowadays I prefer to hear from bassists and surfers and any other travelers.

We're looking for places where there is local culture, community, music and food (so many resorts seem to erase anything local). We've had a great time in places like back-country Kawaii, Lanai, Baja, Tobago, and Cuba but the problem is these places are a real hike from NYC.

Figure there's a lot of Puerto Rico beyond the San Juan sprawl and its only a 3 hour flight.

What's your fave?
