Your rhythm for getting up? Well although I never paid attention to it, I actually do the same things every single day when I wake up.. Spray some deodorant under my armpits, dress, open the window to let some fresh air in, brushing my teeth and washing my face, making my bed up, going downstairs, drink a cup of coffee, watch some TV, walk with the dog, eat and go to work.. So do you have a ''rhythm'' as well when you wake up? |
Nope. I have a 3 year old and a 1 year old. My "rhythm" in the morning is whatever they are feeling. They mat wake up at 5am, or 8am. The three year old love oatmeal one day, and the next day it's terrible. One day she will put on some jeans, the next she throws a fit unless she gets to wear a dress. No "rhythm" at all. But man they are a lot of fun! |
I consider myself a bit neurotic about being routinized and I tend to keep the same "rhythm" on weekdays. My whole morning and evening routines stay fairly consistent The weekends on the other hand, very different. |
Wakeup-clothes-work. Quick stop off at the internet somewhere in there if I have time, generally after clothes, but not always. What can I say. I don't like breakfast and I like to sleep in :D |

Bathroom, clothes, big glass of water, go to work. You get slightly dehydrated as you sleep, so water first thing helps you function better for the day. I eat breakfast when I get to work. lowsound |
Hit snooze at 6:34. Get out of bed at 6:43. Get dressed. Let the dog out. Make a mug of espresso. Feed dog. Walk dog and drink mug of espresso. Brush teeth. Leave for work. |
Hmmm surprised at the lack of bathing. |

The wife monopolizes the shower in the mornings, so I preform my ablutions before I go to bed. I suppose I could get up an hour or so early, but...... No. |

Well, I go to a charter high school, only going to school once a week allows my mornings to be pretty free. My average day starts off by waking up at 5:30 or 6:00, feed the dog, take a shower, get dressed, brush my teeth, drink a cup of coffee while surfing the internet, walk the dog, start my school work, and take periodic breaks to play bass. :bassist: |
You guys must be young, because for us oldsters, the first thing we do in the morning (and sometimes during the night) is pee. After that, it's: Weigh myself. Feed the cats. Breakfast, juice, vitamins. Drink some coffee and watch some TV news. Shower and shave. Dress and go to work. |
On the down stroke. |
wake up, pee, shower, brush my teeth, get dressed, head to work, drink lots of coffee |

Starts like BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ hit snooze 5 mins.. BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ hit snooze 5 mins.. BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ hit snooze 5 mins.. BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ hit snooze repeat till I'm late |
More or less the same every day: Hit snooze a few times until second alarm goes off Use the bathroom Brush my teeth Shave Shower Get dress: boxers, apply deodorant, under shirt, shirt, pants, belt, socks, then glasses Grab phone Eat breakfast (cup of coffee and bowl of cereal standard) Grab daily stuff (wallet, change, pens), put in appropriate pockets in same order (habit/superstition) Put on shoes Grab keys and out the door I go More than anything, I choose to do things in the same order so I know I don't forget anything. I always have everything and am prepared by doing this. |
Hate my alarm for 20-60min (20min snooze intervals), fall into a shower mostly comatose, do all those hygienic things people are so fond of, dress and walk to class. During break it is more about bumming it up until I have to go to work. Although I have started making a bit of a routine with walking the dog while drinking some coffee. |
Almost exactly same routine every single working day. Get out of bed. Visit bathroom. Downstairs - cup of tea, feed cats, smoke. Check Talkbass mod notices, Facebook, private email and work email. More tea and another smoke. Get work bag ready with everything I need for the day. Back upstairs - iron a shirt for work. Shave, shower, towel off, brush teeth, spray pits, insert contact lenses. Get dressed. Downstairs, transfer stuff to suit pockets - phone, pen, smokes, lighter, wallet and change, et cetera. Check back door is locked, set alarm and leave via the front. Lock up, get in car... then I have to actually start thinking about what I'm doing. |
