My spell check just caused me to text my wife, "old beaver" instead of "ok babe". I'm now in trouble.

I also texted her "you breast", once instead of "you bet".
I cant be the only one here doing this stuff..

I don't have any to report but I HATE HATE HATE that "autocorrect" feature on my phone (HTC).

Is there a way to go into Settings or something and disable that? I would rather have typos go out than words that weren't intended and make no sense (or worse).

The first one that springs to mind is when texting a friend of mine's mom...I told her that I was on my way to the park, and asked if he wanted to "ho"

I have an Android and I know here's a way to turn off the autocorrect but I'm too lazy to look for it.

I was texting this girl and I wanted to say "why are you so busy?" Instead I said "why are you so busty?"

Language & Keyboard -> Touch Input -> Text Input

Though I have the SlideIt keyboard and it doesn't work. I'm still trying to figure that out.

My phone seems to love adding negative suffixes to words.

Intended; 'but honey, I do care about you...'

sent: 'but honey, I don't care about you...'

Ya, that one took some 'splaining.

Sent this to the wife of a good friend: Do you want to come

It was supposed to say "Do you want to come over with (husbands name) later on for dinner?" I clicked the send button on accident.

With a WHAT?????????

I had to make a voice call to clear that one up. We've been friends for 25+ years, so we know each other well, but I still felt like a phone call was necessary. I wanted to make sure she didn't think I was being inappropriate.

When my girlfriend was still living with her parents, I'd bring my amp up there and practice so I didn't have to use headphones like I do in my apartment. The first time I asked if it would be alright, she said yes, and I meant to send "I'll be rocking in your basement!". Came out as "Illness be rocking in our basement!". We got a good chuckle out of it, though I felt the need to explain the mistake and that I didn't mean to say "our" since we'd only been together a matter of months at that point.

Not really a typo, but I once sent a booty call text to the wrong Amy. Turned out she was really into me and hadn't had the nerve to say anything. I didn't have the heart to tell her it was a mistake, so we ended up hooking up for awhile.

Yup, one little mistake and all of a sudden you're telling your grandma to pick up an 8-ball because you're going over there later to **** the **** out of her!

Not really a texting type but when I worked for a bank sending out business account application forms we sent out paperwork for the White Horse Pubic House. Application forms came back signed and it ws only when it was passed to account opening that anyone spotted the mistake.

Our bassist sent us a text the other morning before rehearsal that said "I'm rumming a little late this morning" With a text after that said "LOL Running!"

I said "Yeah right :-)"
