I tried uploading a 750megabyte avi file and did it successfully in 6 HOURS? Is that normally how long it takes? Am I doing something wrong? Sorry it my first time using their service. Their website say a few minutes to a few hours, but that seems excessive. |

That is a rather large file! How long is the clip (they have 10 minute limits)?? |

"High Speed cable internet" doesn't really tell us anything to see if that's excessive or not. Really, that should've been done in <1 hour, I would suspect though.
However, then the video is converted. You're using a shared resource (i.e. their server) and I'm sure your video conversion isn't high on the priority list...
I've never uploaded anything that large, so, I can't really say if that's typical or not for something of that size. I have seen things take about 30 minutes for a 100MB file (7:00 time). |

I'm not all that computer savvy so I didn't even know that was considered a large file. I was uploading yesterday so maybe Sunday is their busiest time? |

Encode it, next time I think there are some video encoding software links on the freeware topic here.

If you have Windows, then you can for example use Windows Movie Maker to create a much smaller .wmv file.

I use a video file converter software when I need to add a movie to my brother's Sony mp3/video player or a friends Zune. But that's from an uncompressed avi file. It'll shrink it down from aprox. 700mb to about 200mb and that's a full 2 hour movie! I also use it when I upload something to Youtube. Even if it's a small file already, I try to make it even smaller. |

SiInce youtube will compress it anyway and reduce the quality, i generally compress my video to a quicktime (see the resolution to the recommended youtube one) reducing the size to 30 or so MB. much quicker.
