A hockey stick and goalie pads. Maybe a few pucks so I can knock them out with a slapshot.

I choose Fontaine's shoes.

The bright orange glow should keep them at bay.

I would stock up on energy bars and XXX vitamin water and hide in the driving range room behind the net, with all the lights off.

large hiking backpack
shatterproof canteen
protein bars
a change of clothes (motorcycle jacket if available)
hiking boots
aluminum bat
cold weather sleeping bag
parka
rope
a tarp
aluminum bat
mountain bike

then I'd go to an army surplus where I could ditch the bat and find myself a trench spike and lightweight crowbar.

I'd have to say either the classic chainsaw (permanently affixed to the arm, of course), of the good ol' fashion BOOMSTICK!

Y'all know what I'm talkin' about.

My bad, I just noticed the lack of firearms and high velocity power tools, so I'm going to have to go with improvised Molotov cocktails made from food court Orange Julius cups filled with lantern fuel and jump ropes instead.

I can't believe all these things are available in a small sporting goods store.

I would go for a metal baseball bat by the way. There's not much else in a sports store to use as a weapon as effectively.

If I could get a golf club and somehow manage to get the head off it, I would effectively have a long sharp metal spike to use too.

Get a good pair of hiking boots or some kind of sports shoes that will have the best grip while running on surfaces that may be slick with grime, blood and zombie parts.

Also go to the fishing section of the sports store to see if there are any waterproof clothing to wear to protect against the inevitable blood and guts falling on you when you're fighting zombies.

Does this sports store have sporting firearms?

Maybe also the archery section, get myself a compound bow or crossbow and a whole stack of arrows/bolts.

Go to the weightlifting section to grab a pair of weightlifting gloves that will help provide more grip on the baseball bat that will be covered with blood and grime.

The sports store should also have deodorants to use to help cover the smell of rotting flesh hanging about you.
